Finding the Ancestral origins of the O'Brien Family of Ellicottiville, Cattaraugus, New York

My name is Kevin J. O'Brien and I live in Buffalo, Erie, New York.  My grandfather came to America in on May 26, 1900 from Killernan Townland, Miltown Malbay, County Clare, Ireland.

During the 1980's and 1990's everyday I would go to work and meet my friend, William O'Brien formerly of Ellicottiville, New York.  I would always call him cousin and tell him he was related to High King Brian Boru of Ireland.   Brian Boru is the progenitor of all O'Brien's throughout the world.

Over the past 35 years I have researched the O'Brien families in the Miltown Malbay area of County Clare.  In the summer of 2014 I traced two O'Brien families from Miltown Malbay to the Catholic  graveyard in  Killbuck, New York just South of Ellicottiville.   This gave me the idea that maybe my old friend, Bill O'Brien who I had not seen in years because we both retired may have Miltown Malbay Roots.

In this blog I will share my research that has led me find Bill's ancestors that lived on a small farm in Kilfarboy Townland, Miltown Malbay, County Clare, Ireland in the 1820's - 1850's  before they left Ireland forced by the infamous IRISH FAMINE.

I will also explain why I think we are related and descended from the Brian Boru, High King of all Ireland.
